Kiwanis Awards Scholarships to Graduating Seniors

All graduating seniors from any of the Western Placer Unified School District (WPUSD) high schools are eligible to apply for a Lincoln Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship. Various factors go into the decision in awarding a scholarship, including student initiative and financial need.

Monies are disbursed upon enrollment at an accredited Vocational/Technical School, Community College or four year College. All awards must be distributed within 12 months of being announced. Scholarships are fully funded by the Lincoln Kiwanis Foundation.

IMPORTANT:  The deadline to submit your application is March 1st.

Several scholarships are awarded each year. Scholarships are generally handed out in May (Senior Awards Night).

NOTE: Application information for scholarships are available at local schools from a counselor.

Kiwanis Turn Around Scholarship
(TAS) Program

The Kiwanis Turn Around Scholarship (TAS) Program provides personal recognition and scholarships to graduating at-risk high school seniors for continuing education, which may be college, vocational, or trade school. Kiwanis of Lincoln TAS Program now annually awards scholarships to these deserving students.

This outstanding program raises funds to give scholarships to students from Lincoln High School, Twelve Bridges High School, and Phoenix and Atlas High Schools. Winners are also offered mentorship and encouraged to reapply for future TAS funding for their continuing education.

Often, these students may be the first high school graduates in their family and wish to attend college or post-secondary training. Many students begin their high school career confronting serious personal problems such as substance abuse or addiction, abusive parents or guardians, poverty, homelessness, a physical handicap or illness.

NOTE: Applications for our new "Turn Around Scholarships"  are available at local schools from a counselor.

TAS Program Sponsors Needed

TAS program sponsorships are needed. This annual fundraising effort (with support and efforts of Kiwanis clubs in the area) strongly relies on sponsorships and donations which are greatly appreciated. A community effort generates the needed funds for these scholarships.
